John Eshaya Flowing Ombre Vest

It’s a tricky time of year in L.A. right now. One day you can walk outside in a summer dress and sandals, and then the next day, it’s a tad chilly in the morning and you have to throw on light layers with boots.

JET Draping Vest

This flowing ombre vest is perfect for this time of year. Not only was it less than $4 at the thrift store, but it is soft and cozy to layer during a cold spring morning, as well as light enough to wear and feel comfortable in when the sun comes out mid-afternoon.

Transitional Thrift Store Find: John Eshaya vest for $2-$4(I can’t remember the exact price, because I bought it back in November 2012.)

What else am I wearing? $2 Silky Top from the thrift shop, Recycled JBrand Jeans for $30 and Boots on sale from Target.

Thrift Shopping 2012

As we get ready for the brassiest, holiday-packed week of the year, here’s a look back at some of my favorite looks from the thrift store in 2012.

Thrift Shop 2012

All outfits are brought to you in part (or totally) by thrift shops and recycled clothing stores from the Sunny Shores of California or straight from the Bayous and flat lands of South Texas. Here’s to making 2013 a recycled, affordable and fashionable year!

Red Lion Necklace

I love Ebay. What a great concept-buying, selling, someone else’s trash becomes my treasure, and consuming recycled goods. It’s a Thriftshopcouture favorite, especially for finding vintage jewelry. One evening I was hunting around Ebay for a vintage bauble, when I came across this Red Lion chain necklace. Not only does it have that vintage feel, but it provides a pop of color to a basic outfit and the lengthy chain draws attention to the d├ęcolletage and abs!

After this purchase, I saved this seller to my favorites-an excellent source for vintage jewelry finds! So go on Ebay frequently, find your favorite sellers, buy recycled and keep bargain hunting!

Jewelry Tray

Ever since I saw this photo, I have been scouring thrift shops for a cute and simple jewelry tray. I decided to go with this neutral printed dinner tray I found in the thrift store for $1.99. The best part about it is it can easily convert into a drink tray, party tray or makeup tray too! Check out how I displayed my baubles on this thrift store find!

The Jean Dress

I describe my style as Rancho Chic. I grew up part time on a ranch, I’m obsessed with Blue Jeans, Cowboy Boots, South Western Prints and Country Florals. After months of holding out for the perfect blue jean frock at the thrift store, I finally found a soft, simple and classic blue jean dress that I can wear for years to come. Best news was it cost $7.99 at Goodwill!
